在農曆8月15這一天的節日，這一天是全年中月亮最接近地球的日子，所以這一天也是月亮看上去是又亮又大，又正值秋天，國語叫做中秋節，英文的意思也可以解釋做Autumn Moon Festival
月亮是又亮又大也代表著團圓的意思，所以這一天遠在各地的遊子大部份都要要回家過節，一般企業會讓員工休假 這一天也被國家定為國家級訂的節日，有時遇到星期六、星期日就可以連休好幾日，像今年2021就是從星期六、日、一就是連休息了四天，因為中秋節剛好是在本就該休息的日子裡，就會補一天的假期，還有一些老闆要給員工多休息幾日，會在前一個星期的星期六要求員工來上班，把一天假移到中秋節，所以今年就有四天中秋節的假期，四天假期除了跟家人團聚外不出國，在台灣國內旅行可以很盡興了，
除了旅行，在中秋節的前一晚或是當晚，全家或是與友人舉行烤肉晚會，這種晚會應該很像西方人的派對，不同的是以碳火烤肉為主，還會吃中秋節才會賣的包著各種餡料的中秋月餅，活動會持續到深夜或破曉才特束
還有就是親人或朋友會在社群通訊軟體上互傳祝福的話或圖片，早期則是寄祝賀卡的方式來祝福也會用月餅饋贈親人與朋友。
